Palm Springs

Palm Springs, and the extended towns in the Coachella Valley such as Palm Desert and La Quinta, are the perfect winter get-aways when it gets too grey and wet in the Pacific Northwest.
2 1/2 hours by plane takes you to a climate with more than 300 days of sunshine per year and a comfortable 20-23 degrees Celsius (68-73 F) in the winter months.

But the weather is not the only attraction. Palm Springs has seen a cultural revival over the last decade which has turned this once somewhat sleepy desert destination into a hip haven for golfers, foodies, music lovers, tennis enthusiasts, spa guests and fans of the mid-century modern era. It’s become a melting pot for anyone enjoying the good life.

An experience not to be missed is the Palm Springs Tramway - a gondola going up the Chino Canyon to Mt. San Jacinto 2.5 kilometres over sea level with a breathtaking view of the entire Coachella Valley and surrounding deserts. During the winter season you can even find yourself in a snow covered winter wonderland looking down at summer temperatures below.

Should you want to expand your Palm Springs experience, Los Angeles and San Diego make an ideal day trip just two hours away.

The 21-5 owner association will purchase a detached single-family house with minimum four bedrooms and expansive outdoor space with private pool. The architectural style we’ll be looking for is either the charm and character of a hispanic inspired home or the aesthetics and functionality of a mid-century modern house.

The Palm Springs area has a vast inventory of character homes built from the 1920’s to the 1960’s. Many of them have not been renovated for several decades, and in case such a property for sale lives up to our check list in terms of location, exposure, build quality, layout, etc. - but is in bad need of some serious TLC - it will be an intersting opportunity regarding price and subsequent renovation.
